The long overdue Westin Tashee Resort environment is here, be sure to check out on the suite that we stayed.  I’m sure that you will be interested in knowing what it looks like since I have more photos than the SPG site (here).

The hotel was still working on it’s hardware when I stayed.  I still managed to take some of the photos of the indoor facilities which includes the gym, the business center and the playroom. However, for the outdoor ones, most of them are still under constructions so I wasn’t able to snap them when I was there.  For what I know there is a gigantic chess board like the one in W Walkerhill, a poolside bar, swimming pool and a outdoor play area.

I strongly recommend this resort to anyone who is up for some relaxation away from the buzzing cities in Taiwan, passionate with golf or families with children.  Just bear in mind that this resort is quite out of the place, definitely not your airport hotel, I have been there done that.  Westin Tashee is an hour away from Taoyaun International Airport (TPE) and another hour away from Taipei city center, in addition, you don’t get any public transport to the city center nor the airport.  Westin was saying that they will have their hotel shuttle soon, but I couldn’t find anything on their site.

The staff from checkin was fairly experienced, he kinda avoided our questions in a nice way and handled most of the problem flawlessly, including delivering our late night snack from the bar when there weren’t any in room dining services.  Whereas, the check-out agent he needed an intensive SPG training, when he told me that there are no dining discount for SPG members because I’m getting 500 starpoints for my status and it’s way better that the 250 points for the next level down. And welcome drinks are only for GOLD members since they only gets 250 points.  I never know that 500 points are everything in the SPG world.

Talk about the environment, it can surely let you forget that you were in the buzzing city of Taiwan and feel like a getaway at a beach resort.  Yes! A beach is what it’s lacking, but it has a golf course next door to make up for it.

The business center has a wide range of book selection, and I can spend a day here.  Originally, they don’t let you bring the books to your room, our check-in agent was nice enough to let us took them up.

What makes this resort child friendly is the playroom.  It also offer a wide range of classes for the little ones, while parents spend their time at the gym or have a dip. They would need more staff to run the classes when business picks up.

I recommend this hotel if you want a weekend getaway in Taiwan, but if you are coming to Taiwan for holiday there are better hotels out there.

W Taipei

W Taipei – my favourite Hotel in Taipei, this Hip and Stylish hotel has a superbly good location as it is right above the Taipei City Hall MRT Station and share the same location with the Hankyou Department Store. It’s easy to get around the hotel not to mention there are the high end fashion labels shopping mall – Bellavita, as well as 4 Mitsukoshi and yet a newly opened ATT 4 fun for the young ones..XinYi area is also the heart of business district of Taipei.

Image

Tell you what.. W Taipei is one of the newly opened hotel in Taipei… and had just celebrated it’s first b’day on 14Feb… During this year I had already stayed at W Taipei for a countless time, this is one of my favourite hotel

Image

This is the lobby of W.. I still remember the day when they roped off the lobby for “Love”‘s filming and there I was carrying 3 big suitcases squeezing thru the crowd trying to get to the lift to go check in on the 10th Floor… I was pretty pissed on that day and reckon the hotel should have notify their guest earlier. From then on they have this announcement section on their official website.

The check in area – Welcome desk

the staff here are pretty helpful and friendly, as always I love to chill with them when I couldn’t seep Image

Whatever/Whenever is an unique service to W hotel  and it claims that they can help you with whatever mission you’ve had for them… of course depends on the task, they might charge for their service. I do reckon this is a brilliant way to advertise the hotel

the lift to take you up to your room and it needs your room card to activate it, this photo looks like it was in a scientific film.

up on the 30th floor.. for all the time I stayed with W, I request 30th floor with the Ferris Wheel view, as W is one of the tall building in Taipei you can actually oversee the Ferris Wheel in Dazhi area.

Love the night view – this picture is taken when my sister arranged a surprised birthday party along with the help of W
